STEPHANE DID IT!!!

Stephane moved back in with his family in Bangangte later on last year.

Stephane past his class (French system CM1) and is the 25th out of 81 students in his class. This is pretty amazing given the fact that he only started school at the age of 11 basically starting from scratch with learning the alphabet etc.

NEW BEGINNINGS.

Today marks Stephane's third day at Tassah Academy!!! We are so forever grateful for his development and the opportunities presented to him: he now lives with a beautiful teacher-host family, who welcomed Stephane with open arms.

Almost there: third and last surgery!

This is Stephane's mom, Mama Modestine. She's been incredibly brave and courageous to trust these three random strangers, board the bus and take the 5 hour ride from Bangangte to Yaounde with just a few clothes and barely enough money to pay for the ride, leaving her husband and her other 3 kids back home.

Second surgery done!!

The second surgery is done. It was a very long and complicated surgery. But it is done and all went according to plan. I just drove the 45cm of Stephane's sick colon to the lab for a biopsy.

The first surgery is scheduled.

The first surgery is scheduled for Thursday the 24th of January. It will be a colostomy with a bag attached pretty high up so that the lower intestine can rest a bit before the big surgery which will be the second one in about 2 weeks.
